We live in a wonderful part of the North Pennines countryside, and we need to ensure that everyone can enjoy it – local people and visitors. Footpath maintenance was given a real focus for 25 years through countryside management projects, but these are now gone. We hope it will be possible to get a local volunteer group together to liaise with landowners and keep the paths in good order. Walk leaflets, guided walks programmes etc are a key part of helping all of us to make the most of what we’ve got, and this needs time, dedication and expertise. Some of the most successful leaflets are being revised, but more is needed. Could you organise a guided walks programme, or offer some other skills?
