A Townscape Heritage Celebration – Exhibition telling the story of Alston’s Townscape Heritage Scheme:
Opening event 2.00pm on Saturday 9th September, then open every day during the festival – see full festival programme for details of opening times.

Guided walks around Alston on Saturday and Sunday each weekend:

Each Saturday:
· Waterpower walk with local historian Alastar Robertson to explore the fascinating history of water power in Alston, following the course of the mill race with a chance to see a 21ft diameter waterwheel hidden away in the centre of town.

Each Sunday:
· Alston Town Heritage Trail – take a journey of discovery with local historian, Alastair Robertson and step back in time as you learn about the town’s history and discover fascinating architectural details that you might otherwise miss, and another chance to see the hidden waterwheel.

South Tynedale Railway 40th Anniversary on Saturday 16th September
