So if you want to be involved and are not yet a member, you can join here on the website. £3 for lifetime membership isn’t too onerous… and your only obligation is to receive e-mails, which will update you on activities, invite you to participate, inform you about things of interest.
We’d like to encourage you to think about becoming a Director, or to nudge someone else that you think would be a useful member of the team! Although it’s called a ‘Director’, this is just the term that has to be used because we’re a Company Limited by Guarantee, and simply means a committee member. We need a broad range of people on the Board (i.e. the committee), and the key skill required is a willingness to work as part of a team for the good of the community of Alston Moor. Take a look at ‘Becoming a Director of Alston Moor Partnership’ for more information. We do need someone with financial expertise, but we need much more besides, and it doesn’t have to be anything complicated. You probably have tried to arrange an event with friends, or worked out how to bring people together for a particular task or something of that sort. These are skills that are transferable – in other words, they’re useful to organisations like us!!
If you do want to become a Director and are a member, prepare a short statement and complete the Nomination form (your proposer must be a member of AMP), and send these by eMail or by post to us at the Town Hall (see address on form).
You can find the form here.
If you have any queries about any of this, please get in touch with Alice on email.
