A community orchard and a community farm have emerged as the tastiest options for food growing on Alston Moor, after residents shared their views at drop-ins organized by CAfS in April.

On Sunday 28th April you can find us at the Nenthead Big Breakfast 10am – 1pm. A great community event with lovely food and atmosphere.........

Alston Moor residents are being invited to share their opinions on options for community food growing in the area. Expert grower Lynn Barnes, from Vista Veg, the vegetable box scheme based in Crosby Ravensworth, has been looking into different ways for people to collectively grow food and develop food-growing enterprises.

As we start 2019 lots of exciting things are happening with the Alston Moor Greenprint. This is the projects third and final year and the focus is on delivery.

The third Repair Café will be held at the Nenthead BIG Breakfast in April 2019. We have 17 wonderful, skilled volunteers ready to have a go at fixing all sorts from electronics, to mechanics, textiles and clothes to watches and jewellery, garden tools to radios and hoovers…

Work continues to embed green policy into the neighbourhood / community led planning process.
